Antwerp = Sparkling!

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

ANTWERP PREVIEW – the whole team is back from Antwerp and we just fell in love with the city. We attended the graduation shows at the Royal Academy, ran a fashion shoot and fine tuned the editorial for our 2 poster zines dedicated to this fantastic city (due later in July). Copies will be all over London and we will start our Antwerp blog shortly. In the mean time here’s a quick preview, by Parisian photographer Donatien Veismann.

Turnleft featured on TV Brussel

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Turnleft was recently featured on Brussels International. A TV Brussel crew followed us all night while we were doing the first photo shoot. Special thanks to Anita Lixel (our favourite Australian pop princess) and to Leen Michiels for the ordeal – as you can see it was a tough job!

Monday, June 29th, 2009

BRUSSELS PREVIEW – on July 13 we will release a series of 2 poster magazines dedicated to Brussels. 200,000 copies of them. Stay tuned for a list of stockists – copies will be all over the UK and Spain, with the odd copy making its way to Berlin and Paris. Every day over the next 4 weeks we will feature a small post on the city – no mankenpis, no chips.

Special thanks: Office de Promotion du Tourisme Wallonie-Bruxelles, with the support of Brussels International Tourism & Congress.

t_logoWe’ve been asked many times, Why Turnleft? The title is a wink at our favourite British it-girl, who once claimed before a salutary rehab stint that she never turns right when boarding an aircraft. We applauded but like most, we’re more likely to end up on seat 32E nibbling oversalted nuts and fighting for elbow room. Turnleft doesn’t aspire to be another style directory, in fact we take the whole style travel snobbery with a pinch of irony: sometimes we sip Lazy Red Cheeks in a new Antwerp lounge, fashioned to the hilt, but we’ve been known to fall out of taxis in search of Berlin’s best Currywurst!
